27 January 2026: Storm Chandra impacts collection and delivery operation throughout Ireland

Storm Chandra is currently bringing adverse weather conditions across the UK and Ireland, resulting in Amber Weather Warnings for heavy rain and high winds.

This severe weather has led to ferry operators cancelling routes, which is impacting our collections and deliveries into and out of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, particularly affecting DPD.

Due to ongoing ferry cancellations, we expect delivery delays throughout the remainder of this week to the Republic of Ireland.

Next day deliveries to Northern Ireland are also likely to incur a 24-hour delay.  As always, our teams will do everything possible to minimise any disruption to you and your customers.

Carriers will also tell your customers about any delays where possible.

18 January 2026: Service Updates

For any customers still experiencing delivery delays, DPD have provided further updates here.

12 January 2026: Storm Goretti Update

Any significant delivery disruption caused by Storm Goretti seems to have been cleared over the weekend and no new alerts are being reported to customer orders from carrier partners.

9th January 2026:  Service update: Storm Goretti
  • Storm Goretti continues to disrupt UK carrier networks, following severe access issues at West and East Midlands hubs, impacting both collections and deliveries nationwide.

  • Delays are expected to continue over the coming days, with several areas most affected, including parts of the Midlands, Wales, the North, and South West. Carrier teams are operating throughout the weekend to clear backlogs.

  • Lockwoods & Palletways are unable to collect any pallets today (Friday 9 January) due to adverse weather conditions. Updates will continue to be shared via this page, with impacted parcels visible in MyDPD and a further detailed operational update expected on Monday 12 January.

Storm Goretti continues to impact carrier networks across the UK, with disruption to both collections and deliveries following severe access issues at central hubs.

Overnight conditions at West and East Midlands sites prevented a number of inbound trailers from reaching hubs, which has had a knock-on effect on outbound movements nationwide. While carrier networks remain operational, the scale of the disruption means delays are expected to continue over the coming days.

The most heavily impacted areas currently include:
Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Dudley Port, Newtown, Deeside, Gloucester, Cornwall, Aberdeen, Nottingham, Sheffield, Stoke (Peak District), Swansea, Cardiff and Abergele.

APC have advised active issues delivering to Aberdeen, Deeside, Shrewsbury, Hereford, Birmingham, Rochdale, Bradford and Stoke.

Carrier teams will be operating throughout the weekend to clear backlogs and minimise further impact. Additional delays should be expected as networks recover.

We will continue to update this page as the situation evolves, with a further detailed operational update expected on Monday 12 January. Impacted DPD parcels can be viewed via the MyDPD portal. Where end-customer contact details are available, carriers will proactively notify customers of any delays.

We will remain close to this and continue to share updates as the situation develops.

8th January 2026: Weather warning: Storm Goretti

Storm Goretti is forecast to reach the UK tonight, bringing heavy snowfall, rain and strong winds across large parts of the country.

This follows severe weather already experienced earlier in the week across Scotland, North and Mid Wales, and the North and East Midlands.

Amber weather warnings for heavy snow are currently in place for:

  • The Midlands
  • Wales
  • South West England
  • Yorkshire and the Humber

In addition, Yellow weather warnings for snow, ice and rain are in effect across most of the UK.

As ever, we are doing everything possible to minimise disruption to you and your customers. We are working with our carrier partners to minimise disruption, but will communicate any expected delays to service.

Any regional delays will be shown on this page and updated today/tomorrow.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and share updates as conditions evolve.

7th January 2026

DPD: Weather Challenges to European Customers

Severe weather conditions are impacting deliveries to the Republic of Ireland and mainland Europe.

We are working very hard to minimise the impact of this, but please be aware of the following service updates.

Republic of Ireland

Due to adverse weather in the Irish Sea, the port at Holyhead has been forced to close owing to damage. We are currently rerouting trailers to alternative ports to bypass Holyhead and minimise any delays. Despite this, we are still anticipating 24-hour delays to continue throughout this week.

European mainland

Severe weather across North and Eastern Europe has led the French government to enforce driving bans on motorways until 20:00 tonight. There is also significant traffic congestion at the Channel Tunnel.

In addition, dangerous road conditions across Europe are causing further delays.

Please expect 24-hour delays on all European deliveries for the remainder of the week, with the potential for 48-hour delays as carriers clear the subsequent backlogs.

30 Dec: European Delays due to Channel Tunnel

There are severe delays at both sides of the Channel Tunnel due to power disruption in the tunnel, which is affecting parcel deliveries both to and from Europe.

Parcels collected on Monday 29 December bound for Europe will incur a 24-hour delay, as will some parcels coming into the UK through the Channel Tunnel from Europe.

We expect some parcels collected today to also incur a
24-hour delay, however our partners are working incredibly hard to minimise any disruption to you and your customers.

We will continue to monitor the situation over the next few days, and we will let your customers know of any delay if you have provided their contact details to us.

11 Nov: Service Update: M6 Closure Impacting Deliveries to Scotland & Cumbria

Due to severe overnight flooding, the M6 has been closed at Junction 41 northbound. As a result, our carrier partner DPD has reported significant delays to their linehaul vehicles travelling to depots across Scotland and Cumbria.

The affected depots include: Aberdeen, Carlisle, Cumbernauld, Eurocentral, Edinburgh, Dundee, Glasgow and Tannochside.

This means some parcels scheduled for delivery today may incur delays of up to 24 hours. DPD is working hard to minimise disruption and keep parcels moving wherever possible.

If your orders are impacted, updates will be visible via your MyDPD portal, and DPD will notify your customers directly where contact details have been provided.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and update partners as more information becomes available.

Service Update: DPD Pay Dispute Resolved

Date: 8 October 2025

Status: Resolved – Services Operating as Normal although with a potential lag time to deliveries

DPD has confirmed that all drivers who took part in this week’s pay dispute have now returned to work following an agreement on a way forward. The temporary action stemmed from a proposed 65p reduction in pay for small-parcel deliveries, which impacted many self-employed and franchised drivers. While DPD has not confirmed whether this change has been withdrawn, it stated that new incentive payments have been introduced to maintain competitive driver earnings.

At We Are Fulfilment, we monitored the situation closely throughout the week and remained in direct contact with DPD’s network management team. Some localised depots experienced short delays on Tuesday and Wednesday, resulting in a small number of parcels being delivered up to 48 hours later than expected. However, all DPD collections from WAF sites continued as planned, and the majority of deliveries remained within SLA.

With services now fully operational, partners can expect DPD deliveries to continue as normal. We’ll keep monitoring performance data and remain ready to reroute volume through alternative carriers should any further disruption occur. Our priority, as always, is to ensure partners and their customers experience a consistent, reliable fulfilment service.

12 August

Date: 8 October 2025

Status: Resolved – August 14th

Impact: Minor delays (24–48 hours)

Royal Mail has reported network-wide disruption  across parts of the UK, affecting the movement of mail through regional distribution centres. As a result, some deliveries and collections may experience delays of up to two working days.

We continue to dispatch all Royal Mail orders in line with agreed SLAs, and Royal Mail has confirmed that priority services (Tracked 24 and Special Delivery) are being prioritised for processing and delivery.

We’ll provide further updates as the situation develops.

Date: 6 May 2025

Status: Intermittent delays

Impact: Localised (up to 72 hours in affected areas)

DPD has confirmed that approximately ten of their depots are currently experiencing operational delays. While most collections and deliveries remain unaffected, parcels moving through the impacted depots may see delays of up to three days.

We are continuing to dispatch all DPD shipments as usual, and DPD has assured that all delayed parcels will be prioritised once normal operations resume.

If you wish to use an alternative courier temporarily, please contact your Operations Solutions Manager who can assist in arranging this.

An update from DPD on Heathrow Airport

Heathrow Airport reopened on Saturday 22 March following a significant power outage that caused the airport to close on Friday 21 March.

The closure impacted DPD’s Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct, and DPD Direct Lite services to all destinations, and their teams have been working incredibly hard over the weekend to minimise any impact on customers.

Despite the airport reopening, there is still a significant backlog at Heathrow and it is expected that parcels collected over the weekend and over the coming days are likely to be delayed by 24 hours.
.

March 21st

Service Update: Heathrow Airport Closure

Due to a fire at a local electrical substation, Heathrow Airport is currently experiencing a major power outage and will remain closed until 23:59 on Friday 21 March.

As a result, many services including  DHL’s Air ExpressAir ClassicDPD Direct, and DPD Direct Lite services to all destinations are temporarily affected. Parcelhub have stated they “are assessing the situation and awaiting updates from our carrier base. We will update as soon as possible once we ascertain the impact this may have to any freight that is due to depart today / over the weekend with delays expected to all ROW destinations and potentially some EU destinations.”

Parcels collected on Thursday 20 March and in the days following via these air services may experience delays of at least 48 hours.

We’ll continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as soon as anything changes.

March 11th

DPD are reporting that closure of the M6 motorway has impacted deliveries to Scotland.

The M6 in Lancashire is closed northbound between junctions 31 and 32 near Preston for emergency barrier repairs following a collision which occurred yesterday afternoon. This has caused severe delays for our linehaul vehicles due to arrive at our depots in Scotland.

This means some parcels due for delivery today will incur a delay, but as always we will do everything possible to minimise any impact on you and your customers.

Details of any delayed parcels will be available for customers to view on your MyDPD portal later today.

DPD will also let customers know of any delays customers’ contact details have been provided.

24th January | Storm Éowyn

Red and amber weather warnings issued by the Met Office for this morning until tomorrow are severely disrupting DPDs collection and delivery operation across Scotland and Wales today.

Storm Éowyn has seen extreme high winds of up to 100mph, which is restricting the arrival and movement of linehaul vehicles to their depots in Inverness, Aberdeen, Dundee and Central Scotland.

DPD are following Government advice and suspending services in central Scotland throughout this period, and some parcels due for delivery in Inverness, Aberdeen and Dundee are also likely to incur a 24 hour delay.

This morning the Police and National Highways have also closed Anglesey Bridge, limiting our access to deliver parcels in north-west Wales.

They will do everything possible to minimise any disruption to you and your customers, whilst also ensuring the safety of their team.

24th January | Storm Éowyn

Due to the severe weather conditions, Parcelhub have made the decision not to operate from their Glasgow and Belfast depots this morning. With ferry cancellations in Belfast and increasing wind strength in Scotland, continuing operations would pose a risk to their teams.

Overnight and into this morning, they successfully completed all trunking between depots, expect for the volumes in Belfast.

They will monitor the situation through the day and have plans to address the backlog over the weekend so that they may get back on track and resume normal operations as soon as possible.

23rd January | Storm Éowyn

The Met Office has issued red and amber weather warnings for Friday 24 January to Saturday 25 January, with strong winds of up to 90mph expected to cause dangerous conditions and widespread disruption.

A red weather warning signals a risk to life and advises people not to travel into, out of, through or within those areas for the period the warning is in place.

DPD are following Government advice and suspending services in central Scotland throughout this period. Parcels will therefore incur a 24-hour delay.

23rd January | Storm Éowyn

Red weather warnings for wind have been issued ahead of the arrival of Storm Éwoyn which is expected to cause disruption in Northern Ireland, as well as areas of Scotland. Amber and yellow warnings for rain and snow have also been issued.

As a result Parcelhub have informed us that their carrier partners are announcing potential delays and cancellation of operations from tomorrow and possibly over the weekend.

They are closely monitoring the situation and will make every effort to minimise impact on customers, but always ensuring the safety of employees and partners.

23rd January | Storm Éowyn

A red weather warning has been issued by Met Éireann ahead of the arrival of Storm Éowyn, with ‘status red’ warnings across all of Ireland throughout Friday morning and into the afternoon for some counties.

DPD have suspended their operations in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man for tomorrow.

Due to these severe weather warnings, parcels collected yesterday, today and tomorrow bound for Ireland and the Isle of Man will incur a 24-hour delay.

They will do everything possible to minimise disruption to you and your customer as soon as it is safe to do so.

13th January | Severe Weather conditions

DPD have reported expected delays to service in the following areas due to severe weather conditions: Aberdeenshire, Banffshire, Cheshire, Clwyd, County Durham, Cumbria, Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Gwent, Herefordshire, Kincardineshire, Lancashire, Merseyside, North Yorkshire, Northumberland, Powys, Shropshire, South Yorkshire, and West Yorkshire.

8th January | Severe weather conditions affecting service to Republic of Ireland

Severe weather conditions continue to affect Republic of Ireland, specifically Cork, Kerry and Tipperary. DPD have said this will cause parcels due for delivery in these areas yesterday and today will incur a 24-48 delay.

Disruption is also expected in Limerick and Clare however, they will do everything possible to minimise impact in these areas.

6th January | Snow and Ice affecting delivery and collection

Heavy snow and ice overnight is impacting DPD’s delivery and collection operation in the North West and North East of England, Yorkshire and Wales. With amber weather warning in place, they are working hard to minimise impact but may see delivery delays in these areas with some roads inaccessible.

Parcelhub has also reported that heavy snow and ice across North West and North East England, Yorkshire, and Wales as well as flooding in the South has caused road disruptions and route closures. As a result, their carrier partners are experiencing challenges that may affect deliveries.

3rd January | DPD Service Disruption

Due to severe weather, DPD will be experiencing delays in the following areas: Aberdeenshire, Banffshire, Kincardineshire, Perthshire.

2nd January   |   Possible Severe Weather Disruption

We’re keeping a close eye on potential delivery disruption following the UK weather warnings communicated earlier this week.

Some providers have already experienced some disruption to deliveries today and localised flooding in parts of Northwest England this morning, including Waverton Delivery Unit, located to the South-East of Chester, and Macclesfield Delivery Unit, located South of Man-
chester.

We are advising a potential 24-48 hour delay for parcels in impacted areas. Channel Island sailings have been cancelled today due to adverse weather, and food and medicines are being prioritised currently, so a potential 24 48 hour delay
is advised for Jersey and Guernsey deliveries.

The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for snow across England, Wales, and Southern-Scotland, running from midday on Saturday 4th January up to 9am Monday 6th January. Snowy, wintry weather can cause localised access issues and cause delays across the road networks. We are monitoring any impacts closely and will communicate further if needed.

13th December | Service Update from APC.

APC have advised that there may be intermittent service delays with the Newcastle area.

9th December | Disruption to DPD Service due to Storm Darragh.

A red weather warning has been issued in Wales and south west England and will disrupt DPD’s delivery and collection services today.

With 92mph winds recorded, the Prince of Wales and Severn Bridge have been closed meaning drivers cannot reach their depots. The Dartford Crossing has also closed and will impact delivery in parts of the south east of England.

The weather warning is expected to be in place until 11am this morning. While we have not currently received any updates from our other carriers, please expect these delays to impact other providers.

6th December | Disruptions Due to Storm Darragh.

Parcelhub has informed us of potential service disruptions over the end of this week and into the weekend due to strong winds forecast across the UK. Storm Darragh is set to bring damaging winds to parts of the UK on Saturday causing amber and yellow severe weather warning to be issued.

There are currently cancellations to ferries in the Channel Islands due to high winds, and Parcelhub are expecting disruptions to sailings as well as localised areas.

Due to the current storm on the Irish sea, Parcelhub have two trailers that will not sail until tomorrow morning. P&O have cancelled all sailings until tomorrow from Cairnryan and although the Stena Line is continuing to sail, it cannot deal with the increased volume of traffic. Parcelhub are doing what they can to minimise impact but it is possible that some areas may experience delays.

29th November | Delivery Disruption Update.

Due to a serious road traffic collision involving a car and a heavy goods vehicle on the M6 Southbound last night, there has been a full closure between Junction 15 at Stoke and Junction 14 at Stafford which lasted over 3 hours. As a result, we have seen significant traffic delays impacting 27 of our vehicles throughout the night, with many missing their onward connections to depots.

Due to the timing and severity of the incident, some of Parcelhub’s Next Day parcels processed in our hub towards the end of their shifts will not be delayed. Parcels in their Warrington Hub will experience most of the impact. They are working to ensure as many parcels connect to customers as soon as possible today, however they expect a 24-hour delay to parcels impacted.

28th November | APC Timed Service Delays from Depot 60.

APC have informed us that due to last week’s snowfall, Time Services for Depot 60 were temporarily paused last Friday to support recovery efforts. This may also result in minor transit delays in the DH, SR and SE postcode areas. They are working hard to restore normal operations and thank you for your patience.

26th November | DPD Experiencing Disruptions Due to Weather Conditions.

DPD are currently experiencing disruptions in service due to local flooding in Somerset and Wiltshire.

Update: This continues to impact orders on the 27th November 2024.

We have been informed by DPD that some areas may experience service disruptions due to severe weather. These include: Aberdeenshire, Angus*, Banffshire, Clywd, Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Kincardineshire, Perthshire*, Powys, Shropshire.

*This area is currently inaccessible to DPD drivers. As soon as conditions improve, and it is safe to do so, drivers will attempt delivery.

23rd November | Accident Affecting DPD Deliveries

A serious incident on the A14 has impacted DPD’s East Anglian depots today

A serious road traffic incident occurred overnight on the A14 which led to its closure for over 11 hours. This caused severe delays for our linehaul vehicles bound for a number of depots in the East Anglian region.

This means some DPD parcels due for delivery today will incur a 24-hour delay. Those parcels that can’t be delivered today will be out for delivery on Sunday 24 November.

Details of the delayed parcels will be available for you to view on the MyDPD portal.

DPD have been instructed to let your customers know of any delay.

22nd November | Snow Affecting Deliveries.

DPD has reported Leeds, Middleton, Exeter and their surrounding regions are seeing disruption due to snow and ice on the roads.

They are working to minimise the disruption but there may delivery delays in these areas.

21st November | Snow Affecting Deliveries.

Due to heavy snow in Cornwall, Exeter, and Bournemouth, as well as significant delays along the A30, DPD may see delivery delays in these areas due to inaccessibility.

DPD have reported a delay to their services in Aberdeenshire, Banffshire, Clywd, Kincardineshire, Powys and Shropshire.

19th November | Snow Affecting Deliveries.

Snow is impacting DPD’s collection operation in Scotland, Wales and England with a severe weather warning in place.

Snow is impacting our delivery and collection operation throughout southern Scotland, Scottish Highlands, northern England, north Wales, and the Midlands.

We will inevitably see delivery delays in these areas and some areas may be inaccessible.

Delivery delays by area will be shown on our website, updated throughout the day, and available to view via your MyDPD Local portal.

19th November | EVRI IT Issues.

Evri has experienced an IT failure this morning, meaning that service may be affected in shipping Evri items today. Update: This issue was rectified as of mid-day but all Evri Supplies will be impacted by this national systems glitch.

21st October. DPD IT Failure.

3.30pm: DPD are experiencing a technical failure which is affecting scores of businesses. No root cause known at this time and there may be outbound challenges for WAF due to circumstances beyond our control.
